How Often Your Car’s Brake Rotors Really Need To Be Replaced
Few vehicle components are as important as the brakes. While bleeding the fluid and changing the brake pads are important, changing the brake rotors is also essential.
It’s difficult to know how often you should do so, as the requirements for each vehicle will differ. However, there are some ways to determine if you should.
First, consider your car’s brake rotors. Ceramic brake rotors typically last longer and are more expensive than iron ones, which need changing more frequently.
You should also consider other factors like how often you drive. It’s recommended to replace the typical brake rotors approximately every 50,000 to 70,000 miles you drive.
Ceramic or carbon rotors, meanwhile, can last for 100,000 miles or so. However, if your brakes don’t react the same or feel unusual, have your rotors checked out.
